Biography

“Iris, sparks and stars.
I am not only colour.
Let us guide you to the fire.”

A Friend of Marcus burst onto the scene in 2017 with his debut track “She who annihilates” featuring on Henry Saiz’s Balance presents Natura Sonoris compilation; many calling it a stand out track of the first disc. Released on Natura Sonoris in March 2018 with a Petar Dundov remix, it saw support from Sasha, Henry Saiz, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy Mantzur, Eagles & Butterflies & more.

His second release – a remix of Depaart’s “Blowing Smoke” was released on Sasha’s famous Last Night on Earth with support from Sasha, John Digweed, Guy J, Joris Voorn, Tiefschwarz, Fideles and many more. Then came “The Distant Water Beyond” on Booka Shade’s Blaufield, imprint receiving widespread plays from Joseph Capriati, Lane 8 and Paco Osuna to name but a few. November 2019 saw “Multiple Rays” as his second compilation listing, this time with Balance presents Vivrant with Jeremy Olander, featuring at the peak of the highly acclaimed double disc journey. Support from John Digweed, Henry Saiz, Eelke Kleijn, Nick Warren and more ensued. Following this was “Suspension Point”, his second release on Natura Sonoris out March 2020 with two originals – “Ellipsis” and “Falling Short” – along with a killer techno remix from Blacktik.

After a quick release hiatus due to the pandemic, he returned in 2021 with his most successful work to date – Cepish – released on the seminal UK label Renaissance. This garnered amazing feedback from Laurent Garnier, Max Cooper, Nic Fanciulli, Eelke Kleijn, and many more; reaching #12 on the electronica chart and #6 on the curated Best New Melodic House and Techno chart on Beatport.
